About Us

Renaissance South Yorkshire is a company limited by guarantee, incorporated on the 15th April 2004 it began operations on the 20th April 2004. It was established by Yorkshire Forward, Objective 1 and Local Authority partners in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield to address a sub-regional delivery capacity gap.

The Renaissance South Yorkshire remit is to deliver key projects that contribute to the economic regeneration of South Yorkshire. The company’s focus is on the delivery of:

1. Four Transformational Projects – The Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield Business Park and the development of the M18 corridor; The Advanced Manufacturing Park at Waverley and Sheffield Airport Business Park; The Barnsley Digital Media Centre; and South Yorkshire Inward Investment – a multi-partner project of activities across the sub-region.

2. The Coalfield Programme and other projects in partnership with Yorkshire Forward and 13 projects as an Accountable Body for Objective 1.

Renaissance South Yorkshire is playing a valuable role in the economic regeneration of South Yorkshire.
